Well, following a gap of 3 years, my first Cobra is back in the UK following an extended stay in Italy. It's for sale at £54,995 at Classic and Sportscar Centre in Malton, which is pretty strong money for a 'glass bodied AK, but if it's as good as car as it was when I owned it, there are few cars more enjoyable and it remains a high watermark for me in terms of smiles per £. I hope it goes to an appreciative home. Somewhat disturbingly, they currently have a total of 3 of my former cars for sale, including a Series 3 E Type and a Series 1 for good measure. Along with the Cobra, they have jokingly suggested that they're going to allocate a dedicated part of their web site to 'Lee Marshall's former cars', which isn't even funny, given how much these cars have appreciated in value since I owned them.

That is strong money, but possibly reflective of the market for well presented Cobras these days.
I know a lot of work went into the details, which is great, but it is still an AK, which is “wrong” in so many ways, especially the interior.
Your new car is immeasurably better in every possible way. 👍🏻

It's funny Paul, but when I look at the car now, I do feel like I was deluded at how authentic I'd managed to convince myself that it was!
That said, it really was great fun and I actually enjoyed driving (and to a large degree, owning) it more than any other 'old' car I've so far had, including my current one, but I guess that I'm just getting used to it and that will come over time as I acclimatise; at least I hope so!
It is very strong money and I very much doubt it'll realise that - £47-48k maybe, but perhaps not mid '50's...

Just a further, quick update on my old car; it has sold to a new owner in the UK. He was the first chap to view it and allegedly paid very close to the asking price, though I suspect there was a part exchange somewhere or other.
It's lovely to have the car back in the UK and I'm looking forward to seeing it; perhaps it'll join The Register at some point in the near future. Please forgive the hand painted registration plate; I was experimenting at the time.
