Hi Guys
I’m Mike Spindle, based in Hertfordshire, I’m an industrial designer by trade and not quite old enough to have had the COVID jab just yet.
Interested in cars from the start, I’ve been active in UK and International Historic Rallying scene for twenty five years and also done a few Hillclimb Championships with the Austin Healey Club.
In 2015, I was finally in the right place right time and acquired one of the 78 RHD Autokraft Mk IV’s. In all, 480 alloy bodied Mk IVs were made between ‘82 and ‘94. Mine is a 1993, a rather bright red and it arrived with its original Ford 302 efi intact. Late in 2016 I ordered an all aluminium, original bore and stroke 427 FE and TKO 600. I started conversion work in January 2018, including drawing the entire front end up on CAD, but as the MkIV is not designed to accommodate a big block, it was May 2019 before the car again moved under its own power.
Hopefully Karen and I will meet some or all of you, when life finally returns to normal !
Hi Mike,
Great to see you at the Quiz night and looking forward to seeing your car and meeting Karen at some point in the very near future.
